The role of omega fatty acids in human physical and mental health has been extensively researched in recent years. Omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids are members of the polyunsaturated fatty acid family.

Omega-3 fatty acids are classified into three types: alpha linolenic acid (ALA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA).
